My name is Sasha and I am a “newyorican” artist from the Bronx. When Olga speaks is a project birthed out of my deep connection to my grandmother, who raised me, and all of the roots that she nourished during her life. It is a journey into ancestry and an honoring of the “crone”, or as we say in my culture the “doña”. It is not a project that I expected to make or planned for. I like to say that the project created itself and chose me as its vessel, for when the ancestors call I answer.
