The Marea Tarot is a deck of 82 cards, featuring artwork entirely created by Maša Kulenović. It is inspired by the renowned Thoth Tarot by A. Crowley and Lady F. Harris. Maša’s aim is to introduce as many people as possible to the Thoth system and provide a modern alternative for those who already appreciate this system.

It is an inclusive deck that represents individuals with diverse skin tones, various body shapes, disabilities, and celebrates a small but important part of the LGBTQ+ community.

The Marea Tarot is an ode to both Crowley’s conception and Lady Harris’s powerful designs which influenced this project as the Moon influences the tides. And so the Marea Tarot was born (“Marea” means tide in Italian), a Thoth deck re-envisioned for the modern reader; a combination of photos, drawings and textures which reference contemporary life whilst remaining faithful to Lady Freida Harris’s original vision.

In the book, Maša has summarised all of her studies of the Thoth system, making it accessible even to those who have never used this system before. The Marea Tarot can be considered suitable for beginners.
